Get to know us

Sumter United Ministries (SUM) is a countywide nonprofit that provides
relief to struggling families and helps them get back on their feet. Our services
include home repair, financial assistance, medical care, emergency shelter and education assistance.

WE ARE COMMUNITY

Sumter believes charity begins at home. We mobilize this communal sense of character to help those in need.

WE BELIEVE IN GOD

Our Christian based initiatives are an extension of the Good Samaritan work that area churches perform.

WE ENCOURAGE INDEPENDENCE

We love our neighbors as ourselves which means encouraging our clients to serve God by leading independent and productive lives.
